Prof. Erik Stroes describes novel therapeutic modalities to lower LDL-cholesterol by other means than statin-induced lowering, either by improving the clearance of LDL-c by inhibiting PCSK9, or by decreasing the production of LDL-c by ApoB antisense or inhibiting MTP. He discusses different mechanisms and presents recent trial results of investigational drugs.
