Prof. Erik Stroes describes novel therapeutic modalities to lower LDL-cholesterol by other means than statin-induced lowering, either by improving the clearance of LDL-c by inhibiting PCSK9, or by decreasing the production of LDL-c by ApoB antisense or inhibiting MTP. He discusses different mechanisms and presents recent trial results of investigational drugs.
After watching this e-learning, you will know more about:
- alternative options to lower LDL-cholesterol beyond statin therapy
- the drugs in development and their mechanism of action
- recent study results on the efficacy and safety of PCSK9-antibody treatment, ApoB antisense therapy and MTP-inhibitor treatment.
