Unique Dutch collaborative effort to identify FH patients
The Dutch screening program to identify patients with familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) was previously funded by the government. That funding has now been stopped, but not all FH patients have been found. Dr. Janneke Wittekoek (director LEEFH Foundation) explains how a unique collaborative effort, paid for by reimbursment of insurance companies, aims to find all patients with FH in The Netherlands.
