The educational objectives of this expert meeting are

-Review and exchange recent outcome data with novel antidiabetic medications in the management of T2DM and CVD.

-Discuss the most likely mechanisms by which novel drugs, such as GLP-1 RA exert their beneficial effects

-Define a European perspective on the role of GLP-1 RA in the clinical management of T2DM and CVD

-Define key challenges and goals for education to ensure the implications of new outcome trials like LEADER and SUSTAIN-6 will be adopted in clinical management of T2DM and CVD
