Side effects are not the effect of LDL-c lowering and achieved LDL-c level

LDL-c Key Lessons

The extent of CV reduction obtained with lipid-lowering therapy is dependent on the degree of LDL-c lowering and on the achieved LDL-c level, even at LDL-c<0.2 mmol/L. Conversely, no such relationship is seen for LDL-c level and safety events, and no safety concerns have been noted with LDL-c levels as low as <0.2 mmol/L (the bottom first percentile).
