Recently, the findings of the large SELECT trial were published, in which the cardiovascular effect of a GLP-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) was investigated in patients with CVD and overweight or obesity. Why was this trial performed, what are the outcomes and how should the findings be interpreted?
